This is our family lake home , not a sterile rental unit.  It is furnished and appointed like you would expect a home to be.  The beds all have pillow top mattresses with quilted comforters.  You will find our fishing poles and tackle boxes right where we left them for you to use.  The theater room is a great place for the whole family to watch a movie after a long day on the lake.  Our DVD collection features 50 movies with something for everyone.

Most homes on Lake Nantahala have a steep set of several dozen steps down to the lake.  Our home has a very gradual path of about 70 ft from the dock to the porch.  Our 24' x 16' lakeside deck is the perfect place to relax and watch the children swim.  Then enjoy a lakeside dinner on the 12' picnic table that seats 14.  There is a charcoal grill on this deck in addition to the gas grill on the main porch.  Our home has central heat and air, because it is located at over 3000 foot of elevation you rarely need the air conditioning at night.  Once you experience Lake Nantahala, vacationing on any other lake becomes out of the question.

Lake Nantahala is one of the top fishing lakes in the South East.  Walleye, Lake Trout, Brown Trout, Bluegill, Crappie, Small Mouth and Large Mouth Bass are plantiful in the lake.  March, April, and May are excellent for Walleye , Small Mouth and Brown Trout.  June, July, and August are when the Bluegills are bedding.  The first full moon in September heats up for fall fishing.

Trout fishing in the Nantahala River is excellent all season long for fly fishing and spin casting.  A North  Carolina fishing license and Trout stamp is required.  We can set you up with a licensed guide upon request.

Located less than twenty minutes from our lake home is the Nantahala Outdoor Center www.noc.com   voted by Good Morning America and National Georgraphic Magazine as the #1 Family Vacation Spot in America for Vacations with a Splash.  The whole family will enjoy a Whitewater trip down the Nantahala then dinner at the Rivers End Cafe.

The Blue Ridge Parkway www.blueridgeparkway.org is located about 30 minutes away.  There are several nice loop trips you can make and still be home to watch the sun set from the front porch.  A trip to the mountains would not be complete without a visit to the Smoky Mountain National Park www.nps.gov/grsm   The eastern entrance and the Southern entrance by Cades Cove are both less than an hour away.  www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/cadescove.htm
